Strategic Goals 2023-2025

1. Grow Awareness & Community Engagement
Te Awa is the 17th community foundation established in Aotearoa, New Zealand. It is an important part of our strategy to ensure people know who we are, what we do, how we work, our values, mission and vision and that we work with existing community groups, local government, regional funders, mana whenua and more. 

2. Establish Operational Resilience
The establishment of operational staff in May 2023 has made a significant impact on the reach Te Awa is having in achieving community awareness of the charitable organisation. With two Co-General Managers on the ground, more of the vision and mission can be realised. The operational role will support the establishment of local relationships, the growth of local funds, and create awareness in the region of the community foundation model of giving and philanthropy. 

3. Establish a Thriving District Model  
Te Awa Community Foundation wishes to partner with local and regional partners to help achieve a thriving local community where people give and donate to places, people and causes that matter to them. This requires a forward-thinking and collaborative approach in all the regions where Te Awa has a presence, which includes Tararua, Palmerston North, Horowhenua, Manawatū, Rangitikei and Ruapehu.
